Cycling along the Hillfoots Trail road a south turn off before Papple Bridge is a narrow country road that leads to Stoneypath Farm where from the restored private residential Tower, a trail following a former old road to Garvald Village descends down through woods belonging to the Monks at Garvald Monastery which crosses the Sounding Burn over three bridges which locals give the name of the woods...
The old track climbs from the last bridge along a sunken track from centuries of hose and cart passage to descend into the village beside the Church, in the church yard are more old fascinating grave stones and on the church wall a set of `Jugs` where in the past wrong doers were chained up as punishment...
