Saturday morning i was up early and left the hose at 5.30am for an hour or two loop around local trails and country roads on the old Peugeot. The skies this summer have been amazing. Seems to be a usual amazing sunrise, and then cloud that burns through as the day goes on, then cloud at sunset, again this morning this was the case and the light went a bit flat for pics. I forgot to take a pair of boots home from work to wear for today's ride on the coast (next post) so popped into work on the way home for them.
Gravel grinding, not quite up to Guitar Ted stuff but no probs...
Amazing light...
Around one of the local estates, it was silent with no cars on the country roads or farm machinery working...
I guess this is Roughstuff cycling, as has been done since the bicycle has been invented...
A favourite view of East Lothian... The Bass and Tantallon...
Off road again...
A view east...
South...
West...
And North...
And onto an ancient old road to Whitekirk. `Beckys Strip` is pencilled in to be pathed with blaze as part of the Counties Core Path project. I saw it on a map of development plans for future housing. Its great as it is but does get muddy in winter so not a bad thing....
It is a good direct route to cycle from Whitekirk to North Berwick...
Home with my boots!, breakfast then time to head to the coast with the other Pug...
More in a bit...
Now that's a proper bike getting some proper use. I have to sort out a ride, something like Clyde to Forth on the canals?
ReplyDeleteI would love to join you for that ride Ped! -:)
ReplyDeleteLove your photos and blog. Don't agree with the surface upgrade of Becky's strip though as current plans are for a 3m wide path of a mixture of hardcore and cement which equals 4000m2 of concrete!!
ReplyDeleteHi francis, i was told it was going to be an all weather track of wind dust - like the John Muir Way. agree on the concete proposal! total crazy!, blog post up now on the Byway!
