The Spring Equinox of last week had the lowest spring tides of the year, indeed there was an evening 0.0 Meter tide which does not happen every year,
Saturday morning had a 0.4 Meter low tide at 10am, i rode out at Peffersands to see a wreck on the Car rocks...
Here lies the remains of the SS Poderosa, 
A Tyne built Cargo Steamship was built in 1875 by The Cole Brothers of 0Newcastle Upon Tyne It was 250ft long, weighing 732 tons.
These two images come up when i tried to find a pic of the Poderosa, these are different ships, certainly they are both Tyne built steamships of the period
It ran aground here on the 27th November 1896, on a trip transporting Ballast from Grimsby to Lieth.
The Captain Thomas Grieg, the crew of 15 and 1 passenger made it ashore safe,

The tide was not as low as i hoped today so here are some pics from a previous visit out to the wreck back in 2013...
The Ships anchor is at the road end to Schoughall Farm...
The boiler was built in Sunderland by r=this company...
Those pics from a previous visit show the remaining skeleton of the hull and boiler as often still intact in Steamship wrecks due to their strenght of construction.
It was a lovely morning as i headed back inshore...
