Midweek Cycle; Sunset cycle

Cold high pressure weather this week, Full Moon so high/low tides, not ideal high tide times being late afternoon but still always somewhere to cycle on the coast. Finished work i quickly headed down the coast wrapped up with the raw onshore north easterly wind which has kept temperatures below 0 at night with morning frosts and midday temps not over 6 Celsius....

Half an hour to sunset at Gullane Point...

Enough time for some pics and film along to the Reserve point...

Was real cold cycling back to the van,
Here is a wee film, Song is` Kreatin` by Frost...

Back home and some tinkering required on the Pugsley, with stainless steel spokes/Brass spoke nipple, and alloy rim a chemical reaction causes corrosion with the salt water environment, an often repair is a corroded broken spoke nipple...

Here is the beauty of using a split tube `Ghetto tubeless set up; you can just deflate the tyre roll back the tyre with split tube and roll the foam and rim tape to remove and install a new spoke nipple.

Cannot do this with a sealed tubeless tape- folk say just cut a hole then repair with Duct tape, but that will eventually leak as the tyre sealant breaks down the tape glue...

Old spoke nipple removed from the rim, then the spoke...

New spoke nipple tensioned and tyre inflated and pressure set to 6 psi...

Job done and ready to go...
