Northumberland beach riding 3/8...

Continuing around from Budle Bay the next section looked on Google Earth and maps as the trickiest, and accessing the high tide line via a Byway we got along the edge of the salt marsh deciding in a couple of places to get off and walk the bikes to stay out the mud and hop over the grass mounds to avoid doing any wheel spinning and leaving presence of our passing...

A ditch was navigated easily enough using rocks as stepping stones then it was around a small bay...

A tight fit between the farm fence and a bank and we were onto the firmer mudflats...

The days fierce Northerly wind was going to challenge us now as we winched out across the sands for the next 3 or so miles to the point...

Tough going into that gale, but it was a steady wind and not gusty,
We settled in on low gears for as long as it would take, and we were already looking forward to the tail wind return down these sands, as we both knew we would be flying!...

Wee film, Song is Amp Bishop Roden` by Boards of Canada,

More soon...
