Summer Drought - Thunder - Here Comes the Rain...

I love our weather here in Scotland on the east coast and how it changes so often, onshore winds, offshore winds control it a lot and the North sea, like the Sea Haar of last week drifting in...

Good weather for ducks...

After the long drought we had an amazing couple of thunderstorms over the end of last week...
You know their coming as the humidity increases, and your soaked in sweat at work and cycling, and the Thrips  or as we call them Corn Lice, or Thunder Bugs appear, and drive you nuts!...
A good thunderstorm clears the air and gets rid of the bugs too!..
It was getting too dry anyway...

First thunderstorm rolling in as i rode home from mums. The light in the sky was amazing...

As Sarah Conner Says in Terminator;  `Theres a Storm Coming`...

After dark the heavens opened after the loudest thunder i have heard for years!, awesome noise!
Compact camera does not quite pick up how loud it was...

If that did not play go to; http://www.flickr.com/photos/coastkid71/9388731177/

Then next morning clear cool air at 5.30am, as the storm headed out to sea...

Loads of animals like the damp conditions, like Newts...

Ladybirds have appeared too...

Loads of wee toads everywhere too...

Another heavy shower...

Friday afternoon was the same as i rode to the coast to meet Christian walking the coast, then Friday evening another good shower, then look at this, Saturday morning at 5am in at work...

I did say we have amazing weather here on the Scottish East coast -:)

Saturdays skies would echo with a different thunder today, as it was Airshow day.
Once again our counties skies would echo to the roar of Merlin engines...

More in a bit..

  1. I suppose that weather variety up there can become inconvenient at times, but it fascinating to one stuck in sunny, hot, and dry for months. Thanks for the entertainment. I could almost smell the rain.

  2. We had some spectacular thunderstorms over here last week as well. Put the power out for an hour and a half, it did.

Enjoyed the cut by the Cult there. Thanks!
