Sunday ride east, above the coast, and on the water...

Sunday i was out in the Man Cave early and swapped the rear bearings in the SURLY Pugsley..
.

An easy enough job on a Hope Pro 2 hub, easier with the correct tools i bought after using sockets in the past. This video shows how it is done, it is indeed `A good hub`

I had planned another beach ride for today but had a problem - that bike on the left is just so enjoyable!...

And it makes me wonder if i need the bike on the right now?, this along with the Moonlander which sadly just not get used enough....

So the plan may be to split this and then Moonlander as i want a new Pugsley for next year as the Purple bike is getting old, esp the wheels  after nearly 6 years of salt water and the frame need some work, then i will go into semi retirement and a 80mm rim Jones fork Pug will become my daily fatbike.

That's for winter evenings to do, time to go ride!, and it was east on the NCR 76 east past Dunbar down to Bilsdean near the county border with Berwickshire...

Dry with lack of rain and all the irrigators in the surrounding fields...

11 Miles back to Dunbar on the JMW, with my ride also from home that will make it a 45 mile day...

Lovely trails around here...

Needing more water i knew there was a tap at Dunglass so headed for a refill...

Not a bad place to get married?...

Down through Bilsdean and then back west above the coast on the JMW...

You can get your yacht launched here by the campsite owner...

And around the power station walk...

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8..... -:)

And they are all numbered

Onwards for Barnes Ness...

And the lighthouse...

We spent many happy days here as children and i still love coming down here, fantastic rocks and rock pools to explore, and never that busy...

I took the road to Dunbar on the cycleway...

Down in the harbour Peter was working below deck on his boat The Heron , while Stuart had some beers, Peter came over and picked me up...

This is the life!, While Peter painted the inside of the cabin and himself Stuart gave me a couple of beers...
Nice place to sit and watch the world go by...

A Saltire cloud...

Some stuff was lying about removed  like this sheet on splicing...

What a rude name for a splice!... -:)

While Peter painted away below deck, Stuart went over in his tender to his own boat, and i did a wee film of an observation after 2 bottles of Bud...  -:)

Looking at some charts...

And here is where all the WW2 scrap from Lieth was dumped after the end of WW2, inc  Spitfires, ammo everything...

A lovely blue sky overhead...

And amazing light on the water...

Peter finished painting and tided up then we headed ashore...

Tide further in now so not as far to climb up...

Into the sailing club with his tender...

Swallows...

And time to head home...

What a fantastic evening...

The Bridge was `to nowhere` this afternoon...

I had 7 or 8 miles to go...

-:)

Fantastic summer were having. Only half an inch of rain in 5 weeks means the county is getting real dry...
This weather is really lifting to be out in. Over 200 off road miles this last 7 days plus road cycling to work and North Berwick, good to make the most of it... -:)
