Summer Scorcher Weekend, Pt 2 Sunday...

The weekend roaster continues... midday and a 4 mile cycle to Tesco for some cider, would be a 21 mile loop from home...

My Karate Monkey 29er is a lovely bike to ride. I have added an old SDG Ti rail saddle i had to replace the cool but uncomfortable tartan saddle and added a 44 tooth big chain ring as needing bigger gears after riding a road bike daily for the last 5 weeks...

Up and over Janesfield Brae and great 360 views...

Then along the JMW (John Muir Way) to turn off and ride through Binning Woods...

It was roasting!...

Through to Lochhouses and some dust...

Sweat...

And gears...

Past Barley starting to turn as harvest approaches...

Through Scoughall farm, and a WW2 Anderson Air raid shelter...

And down above Seacliff... packed with day visitors...

On to North Berwick and the mission...

Heard of being two faced... but three faced?...

Cider station... -:)

Loaded with 4 litres of apple juice it was up the heugh past a lovely view point...

Then home along the JMW...

When i got home it was still warm...

As always when i ride my bikes i look at them and think;  a great bike...

  1. That's what cycling is about. Instead of nipping down to the local shop you find an excuse to go the much longer route. I well remember the trouble I got into when I did a 26 mile loop to get a jar of coffee!
