Coastriding with friends...

Go Pro still pics, hence the wonky skylines!

Good to get back out on the coast with friends again, and Saturday i met up with Jason, Craig and Stuart for a wind assisted blast down to NB, and i mean wind assisted!, it was real gusty but loving the Autumn days now cooler and deserted beaches...

Here is a film riding down to NB,

we rode back to Gullane trying to keep out the strong headwind and rode through Archerfield via the JMW.  At the field crossing the field had just been seeded and rolled, only a couplle of sets of foot prints marked the visual route across the soft sandy field so we rode across, leaving the first tyre tracks on the route!

Thought why not make a film?

Early morning beachride...

Early Autumn, the temps are dropping now with single digit nights, the trees are starting to turn and drop their leaves, there is a different smell down in the woods now, a tinge of dampness and rotten vegetation...

On the coast early and a different light on the coast to my usual late afternon rides...

A short ride today as off out later this afternoon so a quick ride, through the woods then onto the coast...

Nice light on the water...

Along the beach then inland and back to the van, Fat fix done and home...

Midweek Cycle; Lower dunes west of Gullane Point

Back on the sand...
After all the harvest cycling of late and Saturdays beach ride cut short with a mechanical i was itching to get back on sand again so after work despite the high tide and howling westerly headwind i winched west to ride along the lower dunes from the Nature Reserve Point to Gullane Point,
Sheltered along to Gullane through the woods  it was nice to see a tree troll again! :)

The high tide really was a high one at 5.8 meters and into the base of the dunes at Gullane...

Down through the Reserve and out to it`s point where there was not a soul to be seen...

Deserted beach, perfect for filming it was nice to ride real low gears on the soft low dunes of fresh blown sand  at pressures below 7 psi and use a Fatbike where it is designed to really be ridden-in conditions a regular bike would never manage to make easy forward progress...

Here are some Go Pro stills from riding along the dunes...

Along to the rocks at the eastern end near Gullane Point, and the sun was gone for the day as cloud came in from the west. with a half hour to sunset i cut inland and headed back east...

Some film along the lower dunes west of Gullane Point.
