Trail Spectating the 2018 Airshow
The 2018 Airshow would see a few planes missing from the display list which sadly included the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster, Spitfire, and Hurricane, due to weather conditions down south, we still had an ace fun day as we left HQ and rode a loop of trails clocking up 20 easy miles off road making our first view point stop not long before the Red Arrows opened the show....
Off again we rode to another view point and a strengthening wind cleared the clouds as we parked up and watched the displays...
The P51 Mustang was impressive as the pilot put the plane through some great moves
Lol...
Classic East Lothian sky as we sat and waited for the final plane, the amazing Typhoon...
What a breathtaking display!...
Back to HQ and baking in the sun in the garden, a great day out cycling with friends...
The Go Pro film of the planes looks like watching Flies flying around the sky, but to witness these amazing aircraft over the skies of East Lothian is fantastic to witness,
Here is a short film,

Trail spectating East Fortune Airshow...
Saturday dawned clear and sunny skies-ideal for the annual airshow here at East Fortune. Though the day would cloud over and be a bit dull but stayed dry...
Craig texted and popped over to ride some trails to the coast then up above East Fortune to watch the airshow at Pencraig then Markle...
The Red Arrows opened the show and as always are a superb performance-amazing skill how close they fly apart, that`s why they are the best display team in the world,
The Typhoon blew eardrums with it`s stunning performance, what that plane can do is nuts!
And the skies of East Fortune once again echoed to the noise of WW2 Rolls Royce V12 Merlin engines of a P51 Mustang and later a Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF)...the noise of those Merlins is quite moving...
We were joined at Markle by Dave G also out on his Pugsley, a great day out..
In not the right order some pics by Craig...
Some film of the day...

East Fortune Airshow 2014; Planes, bikes, a few ciders...
A great weekend, Big skies overhead of storm clouds that seen some heavy showers.
Saturday was Airshow day here at East Fortune
A few pics from a ridge at Markle looking over the airshow...
The Red Arrows display lasted over 15 minutes, my pics are a bit crap and everything looks a bit small , however the planes were often only 2 or 300 feet over our heads, as always an amazing display...
A minute of film..
Hawker Sea Fury;
Tiny to see on the film to watch but the sky thundered to the Sea Fury as it roared around, awesome plane...
Battle of Britain Memorial Flight;
Once again the skies of East Lothian rumbled to the sound of 6 Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines...
The Avro Lancaster escorted by a Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane... sweet sweet Merlin music from these iconic aircraft which won the Battle of Britain in the summer of 1940. And took the fight to the Axis forces.
These aircraft still flying are of course a tribute to the young men who served in them, and to the many who never returned home, 544 RAF pilots were killed in the Batlle of Britain, and many more were horrifically burned and maimed...
1333 British civilians were killed by August 1940 by bombing raids over the UK.
The Avro Lancaster was the biggest of RAF Bomber Command. It took the fight all the way deep inside Nazi Germany. The average age of a crewman was just 22. 55,000 men were killed on Bombing Missions. We owe a lot to those young men who flew these aircraft...
Massive respect
The Sound of Victory...
I headed down and back towards home as a big black cloud headed our way. cut through the race circuit as the display continued...
The noise was unreal as the Typhoon displayed, it was right overhead where i was standing!...
Amazing aircraft!
Time to head home and have a few ciders with the neighbours...
