Willys Jeeps! Snow Patrol!

 

Back in December we got a cold snap with ice in Dunbar, however up on the eastern Lammermuir Hills was a dumping of about 5 inches of lovely snow and I drove up to see farmer Chris and we got out a drive in the Jeeps!, it was magical!

Isolation Cycle Pt 33... Last of the snow...

 

With the weather starting to get milder this evening it looks like the end of the cold snap, it has been superb to get over a week of cycling in winter conditions at JMCP and we made the most of it riding the snow trails through the woods most mornings before getting home midday to get on with other things...

Heading home and you can see the weather coming in, strange that rain is forecasted in 24 hours from this winter landscape condition!...

We celebrated such a fun time to be outdoors getting our isolation exercise doing what we love - riding Fatbikes with a fire in the garden that evening, under the stars as the sky cleared again, the rain never arrived and instead it has been overcast and frosty a few nights helping the thaw disappear quicker...

We needed logs for the fire box so I took the Jeep to the Supermarket to give it a run, for the shopping and bought a bag of logs there too. Been doing a lot of wee jobs on the Jeep in the man cave so will post it up this weekend...

Isolation Cycle Pt 32... Snow day of days...

 

Today was another day of the same old snow, same old sunshine, same old isolation, same old hardly meeting anyone in two hours once away from town...

There are still tracks through the woods with no tracks on them and we cycled some snow trails and rode through others of several inches with no tyre tracks...

A fun wee cycle, the forecast is set to change for the weekend with warmer weather coming from the south west, so we may not have these conditions much longer...

Isolation Cycle Pt 31...Sunshine and snow...

 

The snow paradise continues...

Is it just us or some days the snow looks blue?, 

Must be the clear blue high pressure skies reflecting, ore were both getting a bit snow fever jaded!

The packed dry snow is effortless to cycle with little resistance drag, quite unlike what you would expect..

Another fun couple of hours, home as some folks out walking appeared, we have had our exercise and peace and quiet so left them to enjoy the snow scenery...

Isolation Cycle Pt 30... Snow week continues...

 

Into March now but the blog is still running from over a week ago as been out so much and doing loads of stuff etc...

On today's cycle around JMCP we stopped as have so often done before at this wartime structure, we both have never seen another building looking like this on any other wartime historical websites...

With a banking of soil on its western side to offer some sort of protection it could be something do do with the line of the firing range for Bullit hill just north of it on the NE corner of the plantation... 

G has been busy emailing and researching Historical organisations and once lockdown eases we are meeting up with some people with hopefully more information on here during WW2 as most of the information is now declassified and held in records...

Until then we will just enjoy the cycling here in these superb conditions...

We're starting to get suntans a strange shade from all this snow and sunshine, like we have been on a ski holiday!, It is all getting to be like in some sort of dream with all this white scenery...
