Angus Cycling Festival Fatbike ride; Tentsmuir Forest 11th September 2016

I drove up with friend Craig to Tentsmuir Forest in Fife on Sunday morning for this years Angus Cycling Festival Fatbike ride,
Organised by Angus Cycling Hub it is one of many cycling events organised over a month of festivities ...

Twenty something riders turned up, with some freebie Squirt Dry chain lube - ideal for sand riding and bike wash  handed out, and Progression Bikes  Genesis Demo bikes set up for their riders, the trail guides led up on a loop around the forest taking in some beach, forest tracks and some of the sweet sandy single track through the pine woods.
The sun came out as we finished the ride and we sat in the sun and ate food and had a laugh.

Day trip; Tentsmuir....

Forth bridge closure detour via M9, The Kelpies...

Sunday 8 riders made it for a social fatbike ride around Tentsmuir in Fife, After a wet, damp and overcast two weeks weather it was lovely to get out cycling on a cold crisp frosty winter`s day.
We spent most of the day riding the sandy single track in the woods, and what sweet single track it is at Tentsmuir. I had not been here this year so was glad to get over for a ride there again.
Craig offered to drive over and we met at the Rail Station car park and rode from there with the Forest car park closed due to forestry work. Steven led most of the way and a nice trail via the Fife Coastal Path got us off road to the woods.  Most of the trails we rode i have ridden previously but there was a few new trails to me, and Steven led a nice loop taking in the best of Tentsmuir, we racked up 20 miles in the 4 hours we were out,  loads of laughs, stops for banter and a break at the Crepe Shack, where some folks out walking tried our fatbikes and came back with big grins :)
