Return to the old Windmill...

Up at 6am and now sunrise, and a cooler air about this morning it felt like Autumn, you would think it when you seen these Geese overhead-they are resident Geese and i often see them...

Nice sunrise this morning as i took one of several options to work and this route passes a scenic view of an old historic building...

The old remains of the tower of Balgone Windmill is said to be one of the most photographed views in East Lothian, with it being on the brow of a hill, and North Berwick Law in the background...

It is only accessible to see up close at harvest time and the field was cut on Monday before the evening rain, so i planned to visit it after work today,  happily spun into work in a lovely morning...

I had time to stop as usual at a favourite view point for 5 minutes and soak up the scenic views...

The days work done and the sky had clouded over in the afternoon with threatning rain clouds,
But buy 8pm the cloud broke up and it looked like a sunset may be on the cards!, i jumped on the Surly KramPug 29+ bike and raced the sunset up to Highfield  crossroads...

If Robert Johnstone had rode a Fatbike...
Ha ha - i stopped at the crossroads...
Made a deal with the `Fatside`...
And they said `Keep riding the old Pugsley`...
So i headed for the old Windmill ruin...

South...

West...

North...

East...

Field cut it is a short walk or cycle across to look at this old ruin..

This old Windmill was constructed in the 1600`s, then later converted into a Dovecot by 1799...

It`s an impressive old ruin and i always enjoy a walk in to it every harvest time...

Here is some film i shot on the Go Pro as i rode across to the old ruin,
Song is unknown title from a MTB film -the title lost from switching from Windows to Apple...

Easy on a Sunday morning...

Out early Sunday morning and got in a good cycle through harvested fields...

There are many fields  still to be cut, and many early harvested fields now turned and sown, but managed to ride nearly entirely off road on stubble from home to Tantallon...

Nice light looking east out to sea...

Other harvesting taking place...

From Seacliff it was regular tracks, trails and woods home.
I never took any `point and shoot` type ride by shots as i was soaking in sweat with the muggy weather!,
I have lost nearly 3/4 stone in weight this August with a couple of weeks of no appetite, and some days been working real hard cutting hedges, and then loads of cycling, every day cycling...

This ride was not really `An Easy` this morning as the ground was soft with the recent rain and a bit of a workout!, but feel better for pushing it a bit, you won`t see the sweating below the camera!...

Saturday Evening Sunset Cycle...

Saturday dawned heavy rain that soon cleared to a big blue sky with big fluffy clouds drifting by,
A half day spent at work helping manage the car parking for the monthly CANTEEN Street Food Festival...

Home and the ground was still to damp for any Harvest activity this evening but it was just too nice an evening to sit about so went for another cycle on the Surly KramPug...

Back to The Walled Garden and a pint stop...

Things were wrapping up for the day here, a wee blether with some friends then back home via some harvested fields and an amazing sunset took place...

Wow...

So happy to have went out and seen this...
