Isolation Cycle 37; North Berwick East Beach And Harbour...

Onto the beach  and before hand time to air down the big 5" tyres to make easier work of the real soft dry sand above the high tide line, My Surly Moonlander G is riding has 100mm wide rims and 4.8" Schwalbe Jumbo Jim tyres front and rear, they can be aired down to 3 psi!  nuts eh?

The Surly Wednesday has 80mm wide rims and a 4.8" Jumbo Jim tyre up front and a 4.5" Jumbo Jim rear tyre so 6 psi in the rear on that bike, but could have aired down  to 5 psi ok,

We rode 25 miles on those tyres no probs and as the day went on the comfort of the soft tyres was nice riding home a bit tired from cycling every day for over a week now,

Day of writing up this blog it`s a week to FORTH FAT 2020,  sadly cancelled like everything else and here would have been a load of folks from all over the UK...

Were lucky to be able to exercise daily cycling on the coast and keep safe distances from folk, not touching anything and riding safe too - not the time for  doing anything daft and risking having to go to Hospital, you wuld not be popular!,
Todays big Moon meant a real low tide and we cycled around to the harbour entrance...

Surly Moonlander beach therapy...

I need my beach ride fix!, and some Surly Moonlander therapy...
8am and out early, `early bird catches the worm`... and misses the daytime crowds...

`Desert`ed...

First human sightings (after the golfers inland)...

Great to be out on the big Moonlander again, it make riding here at Scorpion trail so easy...

The light was real flat for pics...

But the views and trails are still here and the same to enjoy on a fatbike...

9am at Gullane and only a couple of cars in the car park...
Is the new Coastal Car Park charges effecting visitors?, or is it just the flat light?...

And the high tide?...

No matter as plenty cycling through the sandy singletracks through the dunes...

Through the dunes, the woods and `Baked bean` trail it was back to the coast....

And through the dunes avoiding the high tide...

Broadsands very quiet today...

And back to NB...

Solo ride sometimes do not have a lot to take pics of,  today the light was flat and the views not very good,
But that is the beauty of Scottish weather,  it changes so often...

Sandstorm Saturday coasting...

After heavy rain Saturday`s skies brightened up a bit around 10am when we went out cycling from North Berwick,

The wind however was a bit wild!, but we managed to stay a bit sheltered inland via Yellowcraig.
Big skies overhead with impressive storm clouds whizzed past in the gale force South westerly wind...

Up to Gullane and an ice cream, Nice old 110 Series 3, similar to the Station Waggon my dad had that we grew up in...

Mowgli sat and drooled hope full as always of something being dropped-no chance!...

This `Loupin on Stane` for mounting horses is a folly, Francis says it is also a bit to tall, nice feature anyway...

Dunno if the BBC fear mongering weather forecast had scared people away but Gullane car park was near deserted...

The weather was not bad at all as the strong wind was not gusting, just howling all the time!...

Loads of blown sand has covered all the rocks usually ridden over here...

Sands were blowing and drifting...

The coast was near devoid of people. We saw no one between Freshwaterhaven to Broadsands...

Love it when the coast is like this, esp when the wind is behind!...

Great light again today...

And soon enough back into town...

And a local couple out walking chatted for a while and he could not resist a shot of my Pugsley, big grins :)...
