With a broken spring being repaired this week on the car I have on loan from the garage this week it was back on the bike for the 3 days to work!
I dropped the bike off and cycled home on a Singlespeed Pugsley I knocked together previous weekend from stuff lying about, I wanted a cheap bike with no mech to put in the back of the car until I get my van repaired, you will recognise some cool parts on this bike!...
Here is a film from the next days commuting into work on the bike, pitch black am so most of film is after work!
Saturday and we were out again at JMCP for the usual couple of hours to stretch the legs, it was milder than late and now were into October Autumn is truly here as leaves start to drop from trees and nights and early morning the temperatures are on the decrease...
I love Autumn and Winter for beachriding as I love getting wrapped up and getting out in the colder temperatures of Winter on Fatbikes where the coast is often quieter and certainly more devoid of people who seem to not wander far from their cars in the coastal car parks...
We had a fun cycle and happy we were soon heading home with another easy 7 miles just out cruising not sweating but keeping the legs spinning...
As usual here is a wee film, song is `Wide Open` by The Crystal Method
Another wee local solo cycle as G working shifts, 0.5 meter low tide, probably the lowest tide this Autumn, so good enough reason to ride out to the Estuary mouth of the river Tyne in John Muir Country Park and follow the river until the mudflats that usually are to slimy to cycle from experience...
I often pop out and do the same ride around JMCP, but it`s only the route that is roughly the same, as the sands change with the tides and can be firm or soft, then there is the light - and that is always changing as you have land sea and sky all meeting, wildlife - mostly birdlife-i don't really photograph it as I cannot get decent pics with a phone but the birds feeding and flying over are always present, this now for instance most noticeable are the geese here for the winter and moving to graze or roost morning and evening...
After recent rain there is a bit current in the Tyne a sit exits into the sea out at the point...
Another fin tip from a 3" WW2 mortar... safe to pick up and inspect...
Here is a good advert why you should not run barefoot on the beach...
Stormy clouds drifted down the hills and I was only home 5 minutes and the heavens opened for a few hours, timed that right! and glad to get out before it arrived!...
I live in East Lothian, S.E. Scotland.
I fill my time with my hobbies, interests and passions. Often cycling along the coast here. I ride steel bikes with big wheels, I like to enjoy all interests of the coast, Its scenery, wildlife, local history, with my other interests in art and music when out and about...
I was diagnosed with Relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis in August 2018, it`s early days but i plan to continue to live my life as i have and show that having a medical condition like MS does not mean you need to stop enjoying your life,
Please excuse the bad grammar, i am working on it!
