Surly Karate Monkey Drop bar 29er Update; Local tracks and harvest views

Sunday morning and a loop of local tracks and old green lanes on the drop bar 29er...

The 29er drop bar concept is a great way to breath life into another option for a ridged mountain bike...

This set up is near ideal for my intentions...

Similar build  to the Salsa Fargo i built up2 years a go,  i prefer the more flexible KM frame set for riding around here. It may not be designed to haul loads on offroad adventures like the Fargo and have less eyelet mounts for that but for riding unladen  it is ideal...

And here is typical of what i like to ride on this bike...

Racing the plough...
Still some fields with bales, not long until these are lifted and ploughed...

Still possible to ride cross country through the stubble...

Linking up the fields with old lanes...

And field boundaries...

Avoiding public roads as much as possible is where the fun is with this bike...

Through the woods...

And back home along some of the John Muir Way trail...

And two fields close to home...

Drop bar 29er-give it a go...
Maybe you have a ridged 29er your not riding much now-maybe because your riding a fatbike more often on your local trails. Sticking on some drop bars or semi drop bars preferably like the Salsa Woodchippers or On One Midge bars opens up another off road concept you may just enjoy,  faster on the road than sitting on upright bars, more comfortable than a Cyclocross bike with more grip. Great fun around here off road.
Time to `Bale` along a short section of road for home...
