Low Plains Drifter...

I planned a bivi ride on the newly built Surly kramPug this weekend but the weather-sleet shower on Friday affy!, and mostly the crazy strong wind that blew up Friday evening put me off heading up into the local Lammermuir hills as i had planned, so shelved the plan for another weekend.
Saturday was taken up with other things, mostly splitting logs, and Sunday morning it was still blowing a hooly! but sod it i need to get out a ride and decided on a loop to mums and back trying to keep out the blustery gale and to ride nettle free trails, and i managed to return home without shins on fire-result!

The day still started with an up hill slog into the gale onto the Garleton ridge road, but worth it to soak up some big sky scenery...

Moody sky...

Down to a section of the old Edinburgh road between the present roads over the hills and down to join the long closed Haddington to Longniddry railway and enjoyed the smooth windust sheltered  descent down to mums...

Yum..

Leaving mums and tail wind assisted now back home and through the estates where i grew up...

Tattie (potato) harvesting soon!...

Former RAF Drem airfield...

More gravel grinding...

3 haircuts!...

Fenton Tower, sat here soaking up the views for a while...

Soon be home and as always i really enjoy this loop which is ride able all year round whatever the season/conditions...

Typical end of the weekend and the wind drops and the sky breaks up on Sunday evening!,
Quick ride to the shops on the Cross-Check and checked out some stuff from the previous days Agricultural show here...

More soon...
