Return to Rubick`s Cubes...

Bamburgh, Northumberland...

A short cycle at Bamburgh, rain forcasted by midday so just a couple of hours dry time low tide cycling...

Gun Battery at Budle Bay...

This is the sister gun battery to the one at Scremerston beach on the western side of Lindesfarne island, both these guns would have covered an area far beyond the island.
10 bolt mountings indicate a big gun was installed here, possibly an ex navy WW1 destroyer 4" or6" gun, or a 25 pounder...

And nearby this, looks military  but sems to be linked to the lime kilns nearby and the pier on the beach...

Back along to the lighthouse at Bamburgh and this painting has been here a number of years...

And the blocks...

Two dice...

And two Rubick`s cubes...

Quick spin out and back on the sands before spits of rain gradually grew heavier...

Back at the van and near the car park an air raid shelter - possibly Observor Corps?...

And one of many machine gun pill boxes here in the dunes...

With the walls up and rain on steady it was time for Scampi and chips at Seahouses before the drive back up the road...
