Moray Coast; Lossiemouth East Beach...

Last day of a few days away staying at Lossiemouth, on the Moray coast...
A lovely dawn, cold and still, perfect for todays cycle east of Lossiemouth to see the WW2 Coastal defences at Innes Wood and parked at Kingston,
We followed the tank blocks and explored the gun battery (previous post),  then once the defences ran out - engulfed by the sand dunes, we cycled along the coast to the closed bridge at Lossiemouth...

Lunch eaten, we returned along the beach, the retreating tide was still too high to stay on the sand and by the time we were back in line with the western end of the tank block line we ran out of sand and were beat by the steep banks of loose pebbles and pushed up to return along the tank block line, Still impressed at how well intact and arrow straight the lines of these defences are...

The beach below had sand again and we returned to try cycle along but in the end gave up and returned to the path,  not all terrain is rideable on a Fatbike!

Here is a wee film of the East beach, Song is `Daydream` by Tycho,

A great few days away and we will return to here to explore a fantastic part of Scotlands east coast hopefully next year....

More soon...
