Isolation Cycle 40; Local trails...
Bullet the blue sky...
Another day, another cycle, and what a day!, blue blue sky, with hardly any aircraft flying and few cars on the roads the Earh must be a better place for it with less polution,
Cracks in the field tracks from the drought so just how dry it is...
Past the former RAF Drem Airfield and gravel tracks to Aberlady and the John Muir Way trail would take us around the coast to Longniddry, then return home via the Haddington Old Railway path and up across the Garleton Hills...

Isolation Cycle 39; Return to the Sub wrecks...
A loop out to Aberlady Bay and a visit to the sub wrecks out in Aberlady Bay,
The sand is so soft this now above the high tide line and al ot of areas the sand banks have moved ans also real soft, too soft to easily cycle on regular 4" Fatbikes, which i have never seen before on the coast here, for now the Moonlander rules for floatation with its 100mm rims and 4.8" tyres,
Someone in front of use had been along the coast on a regular mountainbike and must have been busting a gut,
Walking here, while the Moonie still cruised along!...
Never seen a pool around the western sub before as it has been for a few weeks now, it has exposed the tow ring at the bow and the rudder and prop shaft that has been buried for the previous winter...
Time to head home, daily exercise done for the day...

Isolation Cycle 38; Broadsands....
Another scorcher of a day with little wind so it was warm as we rode a loop to the coast at Yellowcraig and back, low tide was 8.30am so we were up early and out and home before most people would be out for their daily exercise as per UK Lockdown guidelines, stay safe and toch nothing when out is our daily moto when were out...
We cycled to Archerfield befor returning and only passed a few folk out walking dogs and runners also enjoying the empty spaces created along the coast during the Lockdown...

Isolation Cycle 37; North Berwick East Beach And Harbour...
Onto the beach and before hand time to air down the big 5" tyres to make easier work of the real soft dry sand above the high tide line, My Surly Moonlander G is riding has 100mm wide rims and 4.8" Schwalbe Jumbo Jim tyres front and rear, they can be aired down to 3 psi! nuts eh?
The Surly Wednesday has 80mm wide rims and a 4.8" Jumbo Jim tyre up front and a 4.5" Jumbo Jim rear tyre so 6 psi in the rear on that bike, but could have aired down to 5 psi ok,
We rode 25 miles on those tyres no probs and as the day went on the comfort of the soft tyres was nice riding home a bit tired from cycling every day for over a week now,
Day of writing up this blog it`s a week to FORTH FAT 2020, sadly cancelled like everything else and here would have been a load of folks from all over the UK...
Were lucky to be able to exercise daily cycling on the coast and keep safe distances from folk, not touching anything and riding safe too - not the time for doing anything daft and risking having to go to Hospital, you wuld not be popular!,
Todays big Moon meant a real low tide and we cycled around to the harbour entrance...

Isolation Cycle 35; Peffersands...
A big sky day here in the Shire...
We rode out across Hedderwick Bay to do a loop from Dunbar, an easy pace with all the miles we have done with just a few days off the bike it is important to rest too as well as exercise, out in the fresh air and away from others...
Lots of sand out at the point has moved again and is a challange to ride, but fun...
Wanted to use my front 22 tooth inner chain ring as G was doing on her bike but we had a bit of a problem!
I`m always on about Steel bikes and that goes for drivechains and here is why, this alloy inner chain ring has dissolved with the salt water exposure! ha ha! found a steel replacement in the cave to fit..
Deft time to call in the big boys and get the 5" tyre bikes out!
