Midweek cycle - Harvest...

A warm and dry windy Sunday and week so far has seen the harvest going full on around here in East Lothian. Combines are out making the most of what could be our Indian Summer...
Been out a couple of evenings enjoying the spectacle and the counties golden brown scenery on the 29er...

Harvest is my favourite scenic season in East Lothian.
I am going to cheat this year and post a film i made around the County 2 years ago which captures the views and colours of sunny September evenings and those amazing sunsets we often get at this time of year...

Song is of course `Golden Brown` by the Stranglers...

Last night was a sunnier evening and i also took the Go Pro camera to do some chest cam films, unedited as some folk have been asking to see some trails ridden end to end...

Pour a brew and enjoy a section of woodland trail on the John Muir Way south of North Berwick

Combines have been working after dark and the grain trailers whizzing by the house at 11pm, the guys put the hours in...

Oats...

I headed up North Berwick Law, pushing most of the 613ft of the way up. can you see them?

There -:) ...

Light was a bit hazy for the far away views and blowing a gale but as always stunning views.

West;  Edinburgh City and Pentland Hills...

North East;  Bass Rock and Tantallon Castle...

South East;  Whitekirk, Dunbar, Coldingham Moors - Berwickshire...

South;  Garleton Hills and beyond the Lammermuir and Border Hills...

There has been a pair of Whales jaw bones on the summit of NB Law since 1709.
The last pair installed in 1933 were removed when they rotted and collapsed in 2005.
The fibreglass replica Whale bone jaws which were installed in 2007 were paid for by `A friend of North Berwick`, what a kind gesture...

They were manufactured by Ralph Plastics in Macmerry...

During WW2 the company was based at Cockenzie and manufactured these plastic hull patrol boats...

The WW1 Observer post was also used during WW2...

Army on the Law during WW2...

Watchtower built in 1803 during the Napoleonic Wars when it was believed there could be an invasion by the French...

Too right -:)...

Nice evening sky...

I made a film up here 3 years ago. It is in SD (Standard Definition) but the views are clearer...

Also a timelapse sunrise film...

What goes up must come down, a film of the decent, riding the 29er with the ridged fork i took it easy on the steep stuff up top, looks flat on the camera -:)
