A route i hardly ride anymore is a 23 mile xc loop from home, i re rode it a few weeks ago on the Wednesday with the 27.5+ wheels. The route goes west up along the old Ridge Road up onto the local Garleton Hills, then a fun descent down to Haddington where i turn east and follow the River Tyne trail to East Linton village and back home on field boundary tracks and the old air field and home.
The route only has one short section of road about a 1/4 mile in length and that`s it,
It passes a lot of local history and has some good views, along with some good woodland and riverside single track...
Farmer ploughed a bit to close in here taking half the path, it will soon get walked out again by users...
The Vaults, once a road side fortified house/tavern...
Defensive hole for muskets...
Barney Hill...
Across to Gullane and Fife beyond...
Back home and North Berwick...
Past a now over grown old road that once joined the ridge Road, further on there is a roadside wood with great single track descent..
The Plantains descent, first of a few uncut films to show the trails from a riders view...
