Fast forward to the present; 26th June...

Date of this Blog post is 25th June, blogs posts from 4 weeks ago will still appear daily...

UK lockdown is a Joke now with 4 National Countries in the UK with no hard Borders under different stages of Lockdown, People around here are just doing what they want now, driving about, going to shops now open miles away in cars for something to do, ie I can legally drive to IKEA 25 miles away in Edinburgh but I cannot sit in my Mums house 5 miles away and give her a hug...
Your asked to only drive up to 5 Miles to exercise, but can drive to shops in Edinburgh full of hundreds of people, nuts...

The Edinburgh Trades 2 weeks holidays start now and people that have been working in essential jobs are now off for two weeks but cannot travel abroad to Europe, here in Scotland, but they can do so in England!, nuts... there is going to be riots  with all this...

Enough said.... were still abiding by the rules asked to, but wondering why we are!

Anyhow's today was our first cycle at social distancing with someone  else,
We met Davie for a Fatbike cycle from Dunbar to Tyninghame, And it was good to cycle again with someone and catch up, have a laugh, and share some home baking cake!
There was onshore Sea Haar and rumbles of thunder but it did not stop us enjoying ourselves as we rode across the exposed low tide Mussel beds and rocks to Peffersands...

Yum!

After food we returned to Dunbar and skies cleared and we cruised back with the sun on our backs and found some WW2 safe Ordinance...

Isolation Cycle 72; Penmanshiel Forest...

Penmanshiel Forest, a nice cool cycle out the blazing heat, what a heatwave were having!,
There are some downhill trails cut through the slopes of the woods here that original forest tracks cut across which the Southern Upland Way uses as it nears it's journeys end on the coast, but we were going for a revisit to the WW2 Aux Units Base (OB) that we have both visited several times, on route a stop and look around the ruin cottage in the wood...

The wood has been cleared since my first visit so it is easy to find now...

You can read more about this OB here at the Coalshill house website;

Isolation Cycle 71; Cockburnspath Tower...

Another warm day and we continue our daily cycling close to home in keeping with Government guidelines, staying safe, staying away from folk and not touching any gates etc,
On date of scheduling this blog (29th May) Scotland has entered a traffic light phase of lightening the Pandemic lockdown, 2 weeks after England has started, soon we will be able to drive short distances to exercise, and meet family in gardens at social distances,  as I say, i wrote on 29th May,  while a lot of folk are cutting about in cars now and prob visiting pals, you still gotta be careful, the virus is still around...

Today we cycled down the coast, passing on route the Tornoble-err I mean the Torness Nuke train,
You want to see the speed this thunders through Dunbar!, way faster than regular trains!

Armed guards...

Green lanes led under the A1 road to the 15th Century ruin of Cockburnspath Tower...

A bit over grown here!, so continued on a field track instead in the right direction...

Under the A1 and into the wooded glen scented with wild garlic as many woods are this spring...

In a cottage ruin beside the remains of the Keep is a WW2 Air Raid shelter, a bizarre place to build one but it would have been stronger with the added walls!...

Isolation Cycle 69; Windfarm Super Gravel Highway descent!

The best thing about a day in the local hills are the great descents back down to the coast!,  with legs tired after climbing it's good to relax, let off the brakes and get some speed on the descents,
Today we descended from Aikengall Windfarm on the `Super Gravel Highway` as G names it,
