A Saturday Cycle to the Sub Wrecks at Aberlady Bay

Friend Rick wanted to go visit the WW2 Midget submarine wrecks in Aberlady Bay and have a day riding a FatBike.

So we got a loan of a bike for him and 6 of us met up in Gullane for a relaxed social ride up Gullane Hill then out across the Reserve to the subs.

From there we rode east along to Freshwater Haven where we met running friends Mary and Peter, 

then we returned to Gullane for a hot drink and/or ice cream at Cools Ices Gullane

Everytime i cycle out to those tiny subs i think about their history and missions and the bravery of those men who were packed into those tiny things, it must have been terrifying...
