Surly `KramPug Update; 6 years old!, also some commuting and chainsawing...

Not a lot to report on two wheels last week, no off road rides, just commuting and a road ride along to mums mid week...
A lot of windy weather, overcast grey skies and heavy rain Tuesday so not any landscape pics of our bonny county...

Mowing and lifting rough at work... no machine to lift it so manual labour... :(

I rode the old Muddy Fox Courier into work on Thursday to do some post work clearing a big Oak branch that dropped in the recent gales near one of Francis`s horse fields...

Good job nobody was at the gate when this came down!

Two tanks to clear and saw the lot...

Watched by Francis`s nosey horses Harry and Gina who shared an apple i picked up on the road side en route :)

Dark by the time all cleared up. This lot will be split and stored to dry for next again winter...

SURLY KramPug aka The Pumpkin Pugsley update;
It is 6 years this Halloween since i got my first (Grey )Pugsley!...

Over 7000 miles clocked up on this frame. You can read about how it all started Here
Here is a film from 2010 of clips from early films of the Grey Pugsley and its many adventures in the first two years...

Quite appropriate it now has a Pumpkin theme  having arrived at Halloween 2008 :)

Orange JanDD frame bag added!, and a secondhand pair of Jones 720mm wide Loop bars...

These are a nice set up for this bikes set up and purpose...

The bar is quite low so had to add a BBB steerer tube extender...

I took the KramPug out a quick Halloween night ride around the abandoned hospital here and it rides nice with these bars...

This years Halloween there is a lot of talk of Zombies, worst must be the Nazi Zombies...

I wondered if i should take the Husky 450 for added protection...
Go kill some Nazi Zombies!  EIN SWEI DIE!

Never seen any Zombies on my spooky cycle around the old buildings, I shot some film and pics for a film i will edit up next week...

 Back to the KramPug;
29+, Surly ECR and Pugsley Fatbike all in one...
The KramPug is maybe not the rip snorting trail bike of the Krampus...
pic from Surly website;

Or be the bottle cage mount, off road luggage capable carrying rig of the SurlyECR...

But it can also be a Fatbike on it`s original 4" tyres, making it a real jack of all trades
With the KramPug set up as my all day xc bike, that can also take my frame bag and bike packing gear, or racks front and back it is a truly versatile concept...

Good reading on 29+ Surly bikes;
There is some good info on the Surly Krampus and ECR  on the excellent Peddling Nowhere site that compares the two bikes...

More soon...
