Hauling driftwood...

Sunday  and last day of the winter week holiday, Day 9;
Down to John Muir Park at sunrise as got a few other things to do today, firewood stock is getting down so time to haul some wood washed into the high tide line from the River Tyne Estuary with the FatBOB Trailer

These tracks will have any other fat bikers out today scratching there heads!...

 First load...

Maybe a bit too big...

I love it out here at the point of Spike Island...

Load 2...

And load 3... This trailer takes way more than its recommended load weight limit, once your away its ok...

There is loads of wood here this winter but the weight in the car prevents me doing this all day which i would be quite happy to do!...

Job done and a quick ride across to the shoreline at Winterfield... the pug feels real quick after lugging the wood on the trailer!...

Through the Beil burn, shallow where it meets the sea...

Surly Nates grip ok on the rocks, i though they would be a bit slippy with the small contact knobbles...

WW2 structure...

And here WW2 Anti Invasion glider pole bases...

The wall needs a bit repair here!...

Wonder how many Anti Tank blocks are around the coast of the UK?...

Remains of a Machine Gun Pill Box...

Back along the coast to West Barnes...

More blocks put to good use...

Bridge to Nowhere...

I like these signs...

Around the Biel burn...

And the old roadside distance marker, there is another like this near Cockburnspath...

And thats a weeks holiday of cycling and blogging nearly done...light to 5 pm now so soon be doing sunset midweek coast rides with night rides home, always stuff to blog about here on the coast, see you again soon.

  3. Fat BOB...sweeeettt!! Just the other day I was wondering if there was such a thing. Seeing this post says...yep, there is.

We burn wood for heating our home during winter. Sitting in front of the stove is a great thing to pass time.

  4. I still have an open fire which has a back boiler to heat water as well as an elecrtic option to heat water, bbut plan to fit a stove as more economical, free heat and hot water from free wood is great!
